Local Citation Building Costs: What a Package Includes

Compare citation package prices, submission scope, turnaround and reporting before choosing a manual local citation campaign.

Business listing review with a location map, calculator and citation package icons

Local citation building costs make sense only when you know what the quote covers. A package can pay for manual directory submissions, existing-listing changes, duplicate cleanup or ongoing listing management. Those are different jobs, even when providers use similar names.

This guide explains how to compare the scope, read a delivery report and choose a suitable starting point. The prices below describe Katverra Solutions packages checked on 20 October 2026, rather than an industry-wide average.

Katverra Solutions citation package prices

Our manual local citation packages use approved business information and include an organized delivery report. Quantities refer to submission work; they do not promise an equal number of published or Google-indexed listings.

Manual citation packages in USD
QuantityPriceTurnaround
50$253 business days
100$454 business days
200$906 business days

The 50- and 100-submission packages support the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The 200-submission package is for the USA only.

Directory suitability and availability depend on the market, industry and business type. New Zealand campaigns are available for up to 100 citations, subject to relevant directory availability. Other countries, multiple locations and unusual requirements need a scope review first. Check the service page for current pricing before ordering.

Turnaround is not a publication deadline.

The package turnaround covers the submission work and delivery report. A directory may still require verification or moderation after that work is complete.

What a citation-building package should explain

The business details used

Work starts with an approved business name, address, phone number, website and category, often called NAP information. Descriptions, images and other fields may also be needed. Known existing listings help the provider avoid unnecessary overlap. Read our business listing preparation guide before sending your brief.

The type of work being purchased

Ask whether the order covers new submissions, updates to existing records or a combination. Do not assume that a provider will repair every old listing simply because a package includes a large submission count.

The record of delivery

A useful report identifies the directories worked on, available listing URLs and the status or action still needed. Katverra Solutions uses an Excel report or Google Sheet for the agreed delivery. Where applicable, verification notes and account handoff details belong in that record. You can review our portfolio examples for how deliverables are presented; examples are not evidence of a completed campaign for your business.

For a practical review after delivery, see how to read a local citation report, including what submitted, pending and live statuses mean and how to organize follow-up.

Why two citation quotes can cost different amounts

  • Existing records: a business with inconsistent old listings may need investigation before new submissions.
  • Location count: each location needs its own approved details and clearly separated reporting.
  • Directory research: a niche industry or less-covered market can require a custom target list.
  • Verification: ownership checks may need the business or agency to respond.
  • Reporting: agency-specific formats and exception tracking can add work beyond standard delivery.

These factors are reasons to clarify the quote, not automatic extra charges. Agree what is included and what would require approval before additional work begins.

Building, cleanup and ongoing management are different scopes

New citation building

The goal is to submit approved business information to suitable directories. This is the purpose of a standard submission package.

Existing-listing cleanup

Incorrect addresses, duplicate entries and records owned through old accounts may require separate checks and correction requests. Ask which records will be investigated, what access is available and how unresolved cases will be reported.

Ongoing listing management

A recurring service may involve monitoring, updates or a platform-based management arrangement. Ask about renewal costs, account ownership and what happens when the service ends. A one-off manual submission order should not be mistaken for continuous monitoring.

How to choose a sensible package

  1. Confirm the target market. Choose a supported country and one clearly identified business location.
  2. Review your starting information. Resolve conflicting business details and share known listings.
  3. Check suitability before quantity. A larger submission count is not automatically a better match for every business.
  4. Agree the result you can review. Confirm the report, statuses, verification responsibilities and scope boundaries.

For example, a single-location Australian business comparing standard packages can consider the supported 50- or 100-submission options. It should not order the 200-submission USA-only package based on quantity alone. An agency with several locations should request a white-label citation fulfillment scope that keeps each client's records separate.

What the delivery statuses mean

  • Submitted: details were sent through the available submission process.
  • Pending: publication or another directory decision is still outstanding.
  • Published: an available listing can be viewed; this does not establish Google indexing.
  • Action needed: a verification step, missing input or unresolved directory issue needs attention.

Use the actual statuses supplied in your report. A missing live URL should come with context where available rather than being silently presented as a completed published listing.

Do more citations guarantee higher rankings?

No. Google describes local results through relevance, distance and prominence. Citation work is one part of maintaining accurate business information; it cannot guarantee a Maps position or an increase in enquiries. See Google's explanation of local ranking for the wider context.

If your main problem involves website pages, Business Profile priorities or coordinated local-search work, compare our broader local SEO support rather than treating directory submissions as the whole solution.

Questions to ask before paying

  • Does the quantity mean submissions, published listings or something else?
  • Is my country and business type suitable for this package?
  • Are existing-listing corrections and duplicates included?
  • Who responds to verification requests?
  • What report and account handoff will I receive?
  • Which requests would need a separate quote?

Choose the scope before the submission count

Start with accurate information, a suitable market and a clear delivery record. Then compare the package price against the actual work included. View the citation packages or ask about a custom scope if your requirements fall outside the standard options.
